Disillusioned with brush fencing and the effort it took to build a fence that in most cases would last only eight years before needing to be repaired he started a timber fencing business and called it "Old Mate Fencing" a phrase commonly used when referring to someone. "Old Mate Fencing" is a small but successful business and relies extensively on word of mouth referral. The installers used in the business have been with the company for several years and although one or two may look like the wild man from Borneo this does not reflect in their workmanship and their ability to do quality work.
